Shino is a gorgeous black
& tan 2 yr old male shiba. He weighs only 22 pounds. He is neutered, up to
date in vaccinations and on heartworm and flea preventative.
Shino loves taking walks
and gets very excited when he sees the leash. Shino likes to pull on the leash
when walking, so we use a easy walk harness and have found that it works very
well.
Shino likes to “live life
to its fullest”, and when he plays-he plays hard and still has a tendency
towards puppy jumpiness and mouthiness. Due to this we do not feel that Shino
would be well suited to a home with smaller children.
Shino is a very energetic and
intelligent shiba. He is very aware of everything going on around him and
reacts to the energy level of the household and people he is around. He is much
happier and more comfortable in a low key atmosphere, without a lot of
excitement and running around. He also resp
onds
much better to soft spoken commands given in a calm manner.
Shino gets along with
very few dogs, and they are almost always very submissive females. However, he
plays too rough for shy submissive dogs and tends to scare them. He is not the
kind of dog that people should take to the dog park or take to go visit friends
or relatives who have dogs. Shino would be happiest being the only pet in his
adoptive home.
We have some very
specific requirements for a home for Shino listed below-
-
Shino needs
to be an only pet
-
The
adoptive family needs to commit to training classes with Shino to help with
the bonding process
-
The adoptive
family needs to commit to using only positive training methods and calm
commands.
-
Shino needs
to be adopted into a low key household without young children
-
To
be eligible to adopt Shino you must first fill out the online application
and have an approved home visit on file.
-
Shino is a
door bolter and extremely fast, so he will need to be kept on leash or in a
very securely fenced in area.
-
Shino will
NOT be adopted out on the day that he meets with potential adopters. A
waiting period of at least 24 hours will be required before an adoption can
occur.
