If you have seen a dog listed on this site that you think you may be a good match for,  please use the contact information provided on the listing itself to make contact. We do not mediate adoptions.

If you know you're ready to adopt to a shiba, you may also complete an adoption application online and it will be forwarded to shiba rescuers working in your area.  They may be aware of dogs in need who are not listed on this site.

Please note that many of the dogs listed on National Shiba Inu Rescue have NOT been listed by rescue organizations.  Many are listed by current owners seeking to re-home their own dogs. Your submitted application is only shared with individuals and organizations known to be actively working in shiba rescue.  

Also note that there is no guarantee that a shiba is available for adoption in your area and that it is very unusual for a rescue organization to ship any dog to a prospective adopter.  This is partly due to the fact that there is almost always an application screening and home visit component to all adoptions arranged via these organizations.
