Bella was released from a commercial breeder. She
came to us with no muscle tone and the vet has noted a grade three luxating
patella.Bella gets along with other animals. She has recently learned to play
with our male Shiba. Originally she was frightened of his attempts to play.
Bella likes cats. When she first arrived in our house, it was our cats that got
the biggest reaction from her.
Bella is very selective about who she will let touch her. In general she
prefers females to males. She likes the adult female in the house and will
accept petting from her. She is a pretty dog and likes to sit near (not on or
with) my wife. She does not respond to commands and will run from men. As to
housetraining... she prefers going to the bathroom on concrete, but has learned
to go on grass. (Our garage and outside patio gets a lot of action.)
Bella has recently figured out the value of a walk. She does not play with
toys, but unfortunately will eat/destroy socks and underwear. She tolerates nail
clipping. She will resist staying in the tub during bath time. She is wary of
loud noises, but not terrified.
Bella has come a long way, but would be disappointing to a home with any men.
The adoptive home must be kind and patient. She may enjoy a home with other
animals, but a home with a single female would be ideal.
DUE TO THE BREED'S INDEPENDENT NATURE, SHIBAS "MUST ALWAYS BE LEASHED" OUTSIDE A SECURE AREA!
